The Future Of Stock Car Racing

A Representative Cross Section Of Opinion On Where The Sport Has Been, Where It Presently Resides, And Where It’s Headed

On the occasion of our 20th anniversary, the editors of and contributors to Circle Track magazine have considered the future of our sport and come up with a representative cross section of opinion on where the sport has been, where it presently resides, and where it’s headed. Many different methods were used to make these prognostications— some scientific, some arcane, and some just plain old opinion.

What will the cars look like? What kinds of engines will be used? Tires? Chassis? We’ve got an idea of what that future holds, and the car underneath the tarp here represents that idea. We’ll even build the car of the future for you, as an extension of this exercise. Stay tuned.
